(This is my last picture of 2006.Car is original, in beautiful condition for its age, drives very well and smooth. This '94 was photographed outisde my local library. A retro two-seat Thunderbird was introduced in 2002 to great fanfare, but poor sales caused Ford to cease production of it after four model years. The last rear-seated T-Bird ended its run in 1997. Car and Driver magazine said the Super Coupe (this '94 isn't one of those) matched 'an M6 mentality with a Mustang reality.' The Super Coupe got some respect, but it was too basic from an an engineering standpoint to be taken seriously as a European-style tourer. Personal luxury coupes had gone out of style in the United States, and sales of the T-Bird dropped. Sadly, the nineties Thunderbird would not be as popular as its predecessors. A sports version with a supercharged V-6 - the Super Coupe - was available as well.

It was produced by Ford from 1989 to 1997.Īfter the success of the 1983- and 1988 Thunderbirds, both of which were designed in the style of the BMW 6-series, Ford took the styling concept even further with the next-generation Thunderbird. This is a '94 T-Bird, and the last of its kind.
